"Crown of Leaves" is a non-linear game (in a mixed quest and visual novel genre) about mysticism, riddles, constellations, strange creatures, magic and ghosts.
WARNING: Three chapters are planned for release; here is the first chapter, subsequent ones will be distributed as paid DLC. The first chapter has three paths, the game is sensitive to the player´s choices and relationships with other characters, so we strongly recommend that you play it several times. :) Two people are working on the game (+ a programmer and a composer, and more recently an animator). This is our first project, neither of us are game dev or programming pros. Plot: Rui, a resilient city buff, half-educated jeweler and writer of articles on scientific magic, has suffered a big setback and is now forced to return to his homeland, Latori. Here, no one needs his articles, and the belief of the locals in omens and low-grade mysticism causes only irritation in Rui. He dreams of returning to his past life, but is it possible when there is not a penny in his pocket? Once he is lucky, the local baron orders a bracelet from him - a gift for his beautiful bride. Rui gladly takes up the job... But very soon he meets a new problem - the Crazed Rook, a legendary and mysterious spirit, interferes with the lives of the locals, arranging crazy antics. It is said that he appears among mortals only once a year, that he is strong, can cast spells, and he also has a dark sense of humor. Setting: Shan-La is an unusual place. Science here goes hand in hand with mysticism; the inhabitants of this world have access to electricity, telephones and radios, but they have never seen firearms or television. Their huge continent is surrounded by an endless ocean, and the stars in the sky are made of metal and hide many secrets and mysteries. Shan-La is inhabited by people and sahash. Sahash are anthropomorphic creatures, whose peoples are easily distinguished from each other by the shape of their horns. Like people, each Sahash people has its own culture, traditions and religion. And despite the complex relationships within the Sahash society, most of them get along well with people. Key features: Communicate with in-game characters, make friends or enemies, make decisions yourself. But remember, every word you say can have consequences. And they are not always pleasant...
