Forget everything you know about first-person shooters: in Void Bastards, you have to think with your head, not just aim and shoot. You must lead the motley crowd of space criminals out of the Sargasso Nebula. Make decisions and think about where to go, what to do and who to fight with. Then dock and break into alien ships full of strange and terrible enemies.

On board the abandoned starships, you need to figure out how to be more agile to complete the task. Information about the structure of the boat, potential hazards and enemies, and useful consoles and systems will help you with this.

Move carefully around dangerous ships, look for supplies and manage defense systems. React to the change in alignment: will you go around to the generator to restore power, or will you fight your way to the guard module to disable the ship´s protection? Think carefully about when to fight, when to give up, and when to be a bastard.

Use sweat and blood reclaimed supplies to create homemade weapons and tools. Craft everything from distracting robotic cats to terribly unstable cluster bombs.

Pilot a tiny lifeboat across the vast nebula. Run away from the whales of the void and pirates, respectfully avoid hungry hermits, and don´t forget to look for food, fuel and other resources necessary for survival.

Void Bastards has a 12-15 hour campaign that can be played with an endless supply of prisoners, each with their own special traits. If one dies, it´s okay, just prepare the other. Don´t worry, all created things will remain and serve as a successor.
