Class 101 is one of the largest classes of first-generation diesel multiblocks. He is a favorite of early diesel fans and is now available in the regional rail livery for Train Simulator.

More than 500 sets of class 101 have been manufactured by Metro-Cammell Works in Birmingham since 1956. The kits were delivered in two, three and four wagons, depending on what they were intended for. They were distributed throughout the British railway network, with the last five units being decommissioned 47 years after their first commissioning in December 2003, although due to their popularity, many units have been preserved on legacy railways throughout the UK.

The BR Class 101 for the Simulator train is available in the livery of the regional railways and is equipped with manual gear shifting, a fully detailed cockpit and control panel, as well as cabin lighting. A number of exciting scenarios are also included for the Liverpool-Manchester route.
